Sewing 101
Beginner Level/3 Weeks/$45

Whether you are a beginner or just haven’t sewn lately, this class is designed to give you the ABC’s of basic sewing. Students will learn to select the proper size pattern and sew a pair of pants or skirt. Even if you have never sewn before, this class will give you the confidence to tackle any sewing project.

Prerequisite: Sewing Fundamentals I or previous sewing experience

Make a jacket to wear with your skirt or pants from Sewing 101 and build your sewing skills! You will learn how to construct a facing and set in a sleeve as well as continue
building basic skills learned in Sewing 101 such as cutting out,
seam finishes, and hemming.

Expand your sewing skills by learning the proper way to sew
darts, set in a sleeve, facings and buttonholes. This great blouse has it all and the style can be worn with jeans or dressed up with a skirt or slacks.

Alterations Workshops
Intermediate Level/1 Week/$20

Alterations classes now forming! Looking for that perfect fit in your wardrobe? Let us show you how to put all those outfits to work for you. Each student will bring in a garment that needs to be altered and will receive hands-on training to complete their alteration. As simple as hems, to tailoring the fit of your suits and dresses so you look your best. Class size is limited to six students so sign up early. Basic sewing skills recommended.

Sewing Workshop

Sign up for sewing workshops to finish all of the UFO’s (unfinished objects) you have lying around. Use our classroom machines and bring in the project you would like to finish. We will have a Stitching Post sewing instructor here to help you if you need it. Register early as space is limited.

Learn to sew! Students will start out with a bag or purse project and then continue by choosing projects from a selected list. Build your sewing skills by attending additional series of classes working on the projects that you want to work on.

Zipper Techniques

Have you ever found yourself avoiding certain patterns because you were afraid to put in a zipper? Here’s your chance to lose that fear and improve your zipper insertion skills. Learn how to put in a fly front, “hand picked” lapped, and an invisible zipper.

Muslin Fitting Workshop

Prerequisite: Basic Computer Skills are helpful
Do you want to make your own clothes but are afraid of fitting patterns? Here’s the solution! In this class you will use the book, Make Your Own Clothes which includes a software program that allows you to print out patterns that fit you! In this class we will show you the proper way to measure, how to navigate the software and how to use the pattern once it is printed out.

This class is helpful to people at any sewing level.

Handmade ornaments make any Christmas tree special. In this class you will make ornaments using different sewing techniques such as paper piecing, applique and smocking by machine.
